This Pain Should Be Yours
Poem
By Kelie Myers
Lost inside my thoughts
My endless spinning consciousness
Liability of my own devotion
The truth of my heart is forgotten by you
You travel a dangerous road
Armed with no fear of what is to come
Look at me
Naïve, I have a map of logic and sensibility
You avoid the perils of frightful clawing evils
While I am hit by every bullet you've dodged
The life that should be yours is left in your dust
Everyone who's loved you is paying the your debt
Pain, such agonizing pain should be yours
This pain should be yours
The lies you told should find you and lock you away
The pain inflicted (by you) without remorse should be claiming you!
I hurt myself the day I loved you
Unable to see your candor absence of soul
For you began digging my grave
The first day you looked into my eyes with adoration
Pain, such agonizing pain should be yours
